A ride is scheduled for Sunday to honor the life of a Minooka man killed in a motorcycle crash four years ago and criticize what they deem a lenient sentence for the driver responsible. “Justice For Ron Oswald” will begin at 10:30 a.m. July 17 when riders meet at Double J Sports Bar, 1001 Essington Road in Joliet, according to event organizers.
At 11 a.m. Saturday, motorcycle riders will rev their engines and set out for a 120-mile ride to raise money for victims of domestic violence. Registration for the New Hope for Tomorrow Ride 2016 opens at 9 a.m.
Each year the Kentucky Bike Rally in Sturgis, KY, brings thousands of motorcycles and motorcycle riders to the region. The event runs July 14-17 this year.
After hearing downtown merchants talk about the value of a car show in the Uptown Arts District, Mainstreet Association member Johnny Stimley, also owner of Ryan's Irish Pub, decided to organize one. "It's something people have been talking about for years," he said.

Hundreds of motorcyclists came together in an effort to make the roads safer for riders as they remember one of their own. On Saturday, July 9th, riders headed on a 100 mile journey across Iowa from Council Bluffs to Pacific Junction for the "Jeff Ahl Ride".
Our friend, and employee of Turn Key Auto, Randy Beyer was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 small cell lung cancer. We are having a ride and fundraiser to help him and his family with medical bills and expenses for treatment.
