A Derby man died Monday after he apparently crashed his motorcycle into the back of a tractor-trailer while trying to change lanes on Route 8 in Shelton. Shawn P. Reynolds, 53, died at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 4 p.m. Monday on the northbound side of the highway between Exits 12 and 13, state police said Tuesday in a press release.

A 29-year-old man has died in a motorcycle crash in the Goulds area of St. John's. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says the man was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle went off the road on Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive, near the Doyles Road intersection, at about 5:30 p.m.
