EMRA Race Results From Castrol Raceway

EMRA Race ResultsRound Two of the Edmonton Motorcycle Roadracing Association’s 2016 race season fired up on June 19th, just outside of Edmonton, Alberta at Castrol Raceway. Castrol Raceway is the largest racing facility in western Canada and houses the 2.7km, 14-turn road circuit.

Motorcycle DeathsA newly released Governor’s Highway Safety Association report notes that motorcycle rider fatalities were up 10% in 2015 compared to the year before. Just as alarming, while motorcycles are only 3% of all registered vehicles in the US and travel only 1% of all of the vehicle miles in the country, they account for 15% of vehicle deaths.

Instructors from a course offered by the bike’s Italian manufacturer wanted to show how its off-road antilock braking system would stop the wheels from seizing under hard braking, and keep me from dumping myself and the $20,000-plus (Dh73,459) motorcycle into the otherwise bucolic Tuscan scenery.
