RCMP promotes motorcycle safety

motorcycle safetyStrathcona County RCMP are reminding motorists that July is motorcycle safety month. “The Strathcona County RCMP, along with its law-enforcement partners, will be out in full force to ensure the safe driving behaviours of all motorists, with added focus on motorcyclists,” said Const. Chantelle Kelly, media liaison with Strathcona County RCMP.

Ride Safe programAccording to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, on average, there's about 2,300 crashes each year in Wisconsin that involve motorcyclists and result in some type of injury. The Ride Safe course includes eight hours of classroom style instruction that students complete at home before attending their first classroom session with a group, which then prepares them for hands-on riding exercises in a controlled, off-street environment.
